35-Hour Rail Strike Announced in Germany

From 6 p.m. on Wednesday, 6 March, the German Train Drivers' Union (GDL) will be striking nationwide on freight transport, which could lead to massive delays.

The strike is expected to last for 35 hours. However, delays and cancellations are also to be expected shortly before and after the end of the strike until the general operating situation has stabilised and all trains can run as scheduled again. Transhipment at the terminals may also be delayed, as may the subsequent delivery.

All parties involved will endeavour to minimise the impact as far as possible and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
