Truck Toll Price Increase

The German government will increase the truck toll on 1 December 2023.

The truck toll is a fixed, state levy administered by the German federal government. The planned increase will be implemented as a CO2 surcharge, which will be introduced to cover the external costs of transport-related CO2 emissions. Trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tonnes will be affected.

Based on this increase, the costs for truck transport will rise from 1 December. In the case of on-carriage transport by rail, a large part of the total distance is covered by rail, so that the cost increases are significantly lower compared to direct delivery by truck.

As a logistics service provider, we have no influence on the amount of the levy and do not benefit from it.

Price increase: approx. 25 - 30 Euro

FCL / Direct Truck

Price increase: approx. 80 Euro

Full-Truck-Load

Hamburg - Karlsruhe


Total distance: 625 kilometres (of which 618 toll kilometres)

Price increase: approx. 90 Euro
